I'm looking for somebody who'd be willing to draw me a few frames of a
graphic of a boy walking, bending down and gathering a snowball, then
standing up and throwing the snowball. I'd also like the same boy
walking, then kicking. I'm willing to pay somebody $50 for their
time. I have an example graphic of what I'd like him to look like
for the most part. But I'm a lossy artist and just don't have the
patience to draw all the frames. If anybody is interested in doing
this, please contact me at and I'll send you size
specs and an example to start with.

    Thanks,
    Mike

One tiny, very tiny little step above the guys asking for freebies.
I guess for that price you want full resolution, color and 30 fps?
    Wrapping also maybe?

Thank you Stephan for saving me the time of saying that myself. :)

If he had asked about the details, what he would find is that all I
need is about 9 or 10 frames of a 40x60 pixel image, 1 dimensional, 5
colors. Pretty darn simple stuff. Sheesh, I posted my offer in
several graphics groups and it seems everybody assumes I'm asking them
to create a Shrek 3 for me for $50. No ! All I need is 10 one
dimensional images only slightly bigger than an icon, made of 5 simple
    colors.

$50 is pay, it's barely a retainer or deposit.

Hey, It's dinner for someone who may normally do it for free through a
    newsgroup.
In fact, I think I'll do it just to shut you all up, since normally I would
    do it for free.
See I don't have these goofy notions that every bit of my creativity is
    worth a fortune.
Want to see my work? tough shit, lmao.

What you choose to do is not relevant to what other people choose to do, or
    not do.

Just because you shoot yourself in the foot does not mean that other people
have to do the same thing.

I haven't seen anyone stupid enough to do commercial work for free in
    here.
    Oh, wait, now I have.
Doesn't say much for your creativity or self worth.
    Not really.

Your opinion is less relevant than mine, worker bee. And, I have all the
money I'll ever need, so doing this project will be for fun. If you're that
worried about your monetary worth you'd best get your poor ass back to work.
    You're wasting your employers time.

"One dimensional image", but you quote two dimensions ... "40x60 pixel"

Once again, it is not about you. What you have or what you need is not
    relevant.

    Move on.

Like I said, don't need the money, so what's the diff if I charge or not?
Oh, and the reason you even care is?

Because you put your choices into a public forum, now everyone and anyone
    gets to comment.
