Need editing software for cheap PCTV Pinnacle card

I have a cheap Pinnacle PCTV card. It's software works, but does not seem
to create anything I can edit with.

I have a Sony DRU500a DVD burner. It's SonicDVD software WILL take the PCTV
    file and burn it.

But I bought Pinnacle Studio 8 to use with my stuff. No joy with this.
For some reason it will not edit the Pinnacle recorded (PCTV) file. When I
try to capture using the PCTV card with the Studio 8, it says it can only
capture 8 to 35 minutes at a time, but says the disk can handle 5 hours? I
    don't understand this.

All I want to do is playback my analog 8mm and Hi8 camcorder tapes (60 mins)
straight onto a file, then hopefully do some light editing, like taking out
    some portions.

Is there any software that WILL work with PCTV card and Sony DVD burner in
    one program?

Is there an editor that will work or capture the PCTV stuff?

    Ulead demo did not work.
Studio 8 does not seem to work (have it upgraded).

Any software out there at a reasonable price?

Can you give me any websites with demo versions I can try?

I do search with search engines, but all they give is where to buy stuff,
and no longer seem to give information. The Web is getting too commercial,
    and less info related.

My email address here does work. .

You are capturing to an NTFS drive/partition, right? FAT32 won't cut
it due to the 4GB file limit.

    Thank you for that answer.

What can i do to get around that?

I have room for another IDE card and I could put in another hard drive? But
how would you get around the 4gb limit?

I now know that I need "NTFS" file system on a hard drive for files >4gb.

What do I use to format an additional harddrive to NTFS while all my other
    drives are FAT32 and WIN98SE???

windows NT, 2000, or XP. You could also use a program such as

  6. You must be running one of those OS's in order to access NTFS
formatted drives. If you're running only Win98SE, you can't do it.
You can dual boot, but under WIn98 you won't be able to see or access
    NTFS drives.
