Is there a way to get this camera to meter in manual mode? I had to
step down from my Elan as it developed a sticky shutter, and I just
moved, so my hand-held lightmeter has vanished.

Currently I'm metering in P then moving to M and setting the exposure
for easier bracketing. Bloody inconvenient, I'll say!

    Thanks, anyone!

Yes. When you press the "M" button to adjust the aperture, the field in
the viewfinder that normally shows the aperture will instead show "CL" if
you should close down the aperture, "OP" if you should open up, and "oo"
    if the exposure is OK.

If you have activated custom function 5, "CL" means you should use a
faster shutter time, while "OP" means you should use a longer shutter time.
