...and you understand everything?
Nope. But I have a pretty good understanding of what the Baltic is,
however :)
I, on the other hand, thinks this is yet another example of you being
totally unable to admit to having made a mistake. As you are well aware
of, I have no problem admitting to my mistakes, which I make every now
and then.

I have no idea what kind of pride you have invested in "the Baltic" that
you have to make such a huge deal out of this.

So following your logic is lying
No, claiming that I have "pointed out" things that I have not pointed
out is in error - and you do it so much that I am pretty sure that it's
intentional.

Self projection again eh Jonas?

The funny thing is, that regardless of which countries are known by the term
"Baltic States" both you and everyone else reading knew exactly who and
where Savadgeduck was refering to. You have explicitly stated that you
assumed him to be refering to you. So what's yer beef? Just want to argue
again eh?

As do I. As do I.
There have been many times over the years I have had to admit mistakes,
or a particular stance I had taken. Including misreading a post, and
misdirecting a response.
Just check with some of the regulars here who predate your arrival on
the scene. Folks such as PeterN, Alan Browne, and of course the
killfiled Tony Cooper & Eric Stevens.
....and I confirm that you have done that on occasion.
I was thinking the same about you.

For the record, I assumed you weren't in reference to me and expected
you to respond with a "Who was talking about you?" response instead of
the "nuh-uh, Sweden can too be called the baltic!! And I was in
reference to the Baltic Sea anyway!! I know better than you about things
related to Sweden and Scandinavian geography!!!!"

But, my mistake - as usual :)

What a crock of shit, of course you read Tonys response. You're just a
coward hiding behind your pretend killfile so you can ignore the things that
you find uncomfortably true.

So, you're just pretending the opposite on usenet? Ok...
I "arrived" here 1996, Mr Can't be Wrong. :)
The doesn't seem to have been much "thought" going on, just a knee jerk
response instead of just saying "Oops, I meant Scandinavia, where you
live, my mistake". Why make such a huge deal out of this?

Just one question; Why the selective editing at this stage?

Note I am not the individual who has descended to name calling. I
believe your "Mr Can't Be Wrong" was aimed at me. So to put thinks back
in context here is the part of mr response you considered trolling.
(Maybe I should have called your use of "Mr Can't Be Wrong" trolling.
You sure hooked me with that one.)

The missing text:

There are times in English usage that words can take a different
connotation given location used and the culture using them. For
example, "The South", The Border", "Mid-Atlantic", etc. My use of "the
Baltic" was to denote a general geographic area, and in that respect my
usage was accurate.

....and you still don't get it.
You should use a sig delimiter not a comma.

You are the stubborn one that can't be wrong when you are, and that
keeps referring to "whoosh" as if to signify that *I* have missed
something. Ironic!

In short - any response than "Ooops, I meant Scandinavia" is more of
your trolling, where you continue to argue just to keep me arguing. I am
trying to cut you short to prevent this, but for reasons unknown, you're
determined to paste it back in.

Just let it go - you keep referring to Sweden as "The Baltic" and have
the rest of the world snicker at you all you want. Ignorance is bliss,
ey?

You consistently seem to snip the actual content of the replies to yourself
that have the meaning of the post contained within. So here it is again

No surprise, but Jonas is shifting this in each post. In an earlier
post he wrote "Refering to Sweden as 'the Baltic' is indeed
ridiculous. And trying to retcon it to make it seem like you meant
"the Baltic Sea" is just beyond weird."

(I'll give him a typo pass on the misspelling, but remain baffled by
why he wrote "retcon". Retcon [retroactive continuity] refers to
works of fiction where something is revised to allow for a sequel or
summat. Bringing a dead character back to life, for example.)

Now, Jonas is writing it "The Baltic", which is a proper noun phrase
created by the capitalization of "The". Obviously, the Duck's meaning
was "from an area that borders on the Baltic Sea", but Jonas is moving
the comment and the goalposts into the sea.

Make your mind up Jonas, earlier you wrote, and I quote

"Misread? Do you mean that Savageduck wasn't in reference to me - so why
didn't he say so? Here's what he said:

"Now let's see what sort of response that unread bit of information
garners from the Baltic."

My interpretation was the he was talking about me, and this was a jab at
me killfiling a troll (hence the "unread" bit) that he thinks wrote
something that deserves a response (I wouldn't know, I didn't read it)."

Ooh, one of the most honest things you've said since you appeared

See how the English-speaking world sees the Baltic
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/31088803/DIS110713 GSA Onboard.pdf
This is a list of excursions available from a British cruise liner.
Their view of the Baltic encompasses much more than the Swedish view
quoted by Sandman. I don't think Savageduck was wrong in his usage of
the term.
