I'm looking for a relatively inexpensive compact shoulder bag for a
single SLR body (Elan 7E) and 2-3 lenses (a zoom or two and a short
prime, for now). I've looked at a Lowepro S&F Specialist 80 AW online,
and it looks like exactly what I need, but I don't know much about the
brand... Anything specific I should be aware of? Any other brand
    recommendations?

  2. What do you mean?
Domke, Tamrac. Lowepro, BTW, is one of the best.

  3. I carry a Domke J-2, the J-3 is slightly smaller, and may be more to your
needs. I carry 2 bodies (A2 and 1n) 2-4 lenses, flash, film, filters.

I guess I was wondering about construction or other quality problems
that a brand might have. There are also annoyances with any product
that only experience tends to reveal...
    Appreciated.

  5. I got a small Lowepro a few years ago, and I treat it like any backpack I've
had, so it has had a few scrapes. It's still in very good condition, so I
certainly have no complaints and would buy another. You can buy extra lens
cases that attach to the backpacks.

I also have their belt, which is great for carrying a few lenses, and will
consider the vest when I run out of room on my belt.

The only thing I don't like about it is that (like practically all
backpacks) it leaves the back of my shirt soaked with perspiration. I've
seen some hiking backbacks that have a net that presses against your back
but I haven't seen a camera backpack that does that.

    Regards,
    Aaron Queenan.
