I have Nero 6 and it is burns DVD's great (DVD video from MPEG, Files
to DVD, etc). When I attempt to burn a DVD video from a DV format it
starts the process and after like 30 minutes to 1 hour i will go back
to check on it and the customer is completely shut down and there is
nothing on the DVD. The priority is set to Above Normal and the option
to shut down the computer is no checked.

I couldn't find anyone else who has had this problem, any thoughts on
    this would be great!

    Thank you,

The files for DVDs are in MPEG format. When you try to do it from a DV
file, that's an AVI stream which is why it won't work. If you want to do a
simple backup of your video files, do it as a data disk and not a DVD. Hope
    that makes sense.

Nero handles .AVI's just fine, something else
is wrong. It encodes to MPEG-2 from any
Direct Show or VfW source if the proper codec
is installed. It wouldn't start encoding at all it
    the source was unreadable...

Suggest you run this past the writers of
    Nero at their support site.

Thanks for your email. I choose DV format because the clarity seems to
be so much better. Also ripping the home video DV resulted in no frame
rate loss. I will give Nero Support i try.

    Thanks,
