Ok, things are going altogether too smoothly, I need to complicate things
    again.

Up until now, I have been annoyed by what I suspect are retrace lines at the
bottom of each frame, as monitored on my computer CRT. Do I need to get
worried about getting rid of them? If I need to get worried, I would like to
know, otherwise I will find another nit to pick. If I was not so lazy, I
would output a file through the A/D box back to the TV set and see if they
    show up there.

Another beef. Windows Movie Maker. It looks nice, but it seems to crash a
lot. Is it just me, or is it crap?

Ulead VideoStudio 7 seems to be pretty good. For capture I use WMCap. I also
    have ScLive and others.

The presence of those seeking the truth
    is infinitely preferred to those
who think they have found it.

  2. If you want to work around the crashing of Movie Maker 2 (assuming you're
running version 2 on Windows XP), see the Problem Solving... Acceleration
    and Codecs page of www.papajohn.org

I will have a close look in the morning, right now I am getting tired, have
opted for a glass of wine and some Alan Jackson.

    Thanks.

ps - this has to be one of the best newsgroups I have encountered.
