At something like 1.3 megapixels. Gimmick? Why not do 10fps at 5-6
    megapixels instead?

IIRC no focus - and only with mirror up. Almost as useful as a $19.95
    webcam.

Why 10fps at 5-6 megapixels instead? Why either? Why anything? Cos thats
what they chose to make I guess, when you own the factory I guess you can
design what YOU want, till then you can just complain about everything!

First RichA if you want to try and start a flame war get your information
correct. That is 115 fps at 1.6MP. It says so right here under Drive Modes.

As for why well as an example your at a race track, air show, etc. and you
want to capture images to create a flipbook like animation later. Could be
very useful. But, I wouldn't expect you to think of things like this. Hell
you can't even get your info correct, let alone have a creative thought.

Pro as in professional-level DSLR cameras. Since the last Pentax to
"try" to make that claim was the LX film camera in the 1980s, it's
understandable that it would confuse a Pentax user.

The only ones trying to start a "war" are the crybabies like yourself.

I think you'll find that Pentax is going after the the advanced
amateur market, and the K20D has some nice features for a camera in
    this class and price-point.

The 21fps may be a gimmick and a seldom/never used feature, but at
that frame-rate the K20D should be able to capture ~5.5-seconds of
movie-quality stills. Might be fun to use to experimess with frame
    animation.

Sounds like what they are doing is capturing the frame
sequence that it uses for live-view.
What I find disappointing though is that they now have a
limit of 38 JPG frames at 3FPS. The K10D can do JPG until
    the card fills.

Oh - of course. Most of the spam mail I get is actually all about
getting my K20d to work better. Good to know that - I was starting to
    take it personally.

You said Pro not me dopey, this is not a "Pro" camera although I do know
several Pros that make all their money using Pentax cameras. Sorry, what was
    your point?

Not something that I care too much about but "Pro" web developers could
certainly use the feature to great effect.

Personally that would never be a problem for me but you must remember that
these are big files from a 14MP sensor.

I've given this a little thought, and the frame animation aspect may
be one of the more interesting uses for the K20D. Maybe not a reason
to buy one, but certainly something to explore if you do.

One thing that comes to mind is running the image through Photoshop
and use the Poster Edges and Cut Out filters to turn a live-action
sequence into an animated cartoon. An Action would automate the
    process.
