NEW SANDISK COMPACT MEMORY CARD BACKWARD COMPATIBLE IN COOLPIX3100??

Discussion in 'Digital Cameras' started by Joseph E. Shea, Jr., Aug 29, 2004.

  1. Does the newer faster SanDisk Compact Flash Card offer any speed advantage
in a Nikon Coolpix 3100 should I just stick with the original stock SanDisk
    cards when buying more memory???

Thank You in advance for any help / advice

Probably not, especially if you don't take many shots back to back waiting
for the in camera buffer to clear. There are several levels of card. If you
are wondering about any that have Write Acceleration (ie, WA), the answer
is definitely not. None of the Coolpixes support WA, only the Nikon dSLRs
    do.

Not on a CP-5700 are you going to see write times anywhere near that fast.
I get the same write speeds with Lexar 8x-128MB and 40XWA-1GB cards.
