NEW Series Of Films From Kodak

Discussion in 'Kodak' started by James Philopena, Aug 11, 2004.

1. NOTICE: If you participate in the Shoot In and
post about it here you are in violation of the newsgroup charter. The
newsgroup is for discussion of 35mm photography equipment only. If you
contribute to the Shoot In you will be reported to your ISP and your
NSP as a spammer and you will eventually lose your accounts and you
might eventually be hit with some serious fines.

Not entirely correct there Geekboy. You see participating in Shootin and
posting about it here is quite OK and within the charter of the group if
the subject of the post is about the gear and the technique used to
create the image... It's called Photography and unlike your post, highly
on-topic so why don't you just pull your head in and take some of your
own advise... Learn to use a kill file.

Amazing. I give Mike Scarpitti a hard time over in r.p.darkroom and more
and more post with my name appear. Seems to support what I said several
months ago, huh Mikey...

4. The shoot-in is a lot closer to charter than 98% of the crap posted here.
Besides, what are you or anyone else going to do about it besides cry and
clutter up usenet? Report it to the internet police? Your mom? While
you're at it, why not report all the political whinging and name calling?

Here's a better idea - just go away.

Please, 'James', please do try. It's been a humourless week and I could
really do with a good laugh.

Have you even read the Charter? Helge Nareid often posts a listing for it,
but I doubt many have ever read it. Here are a few quotes from that which
pertain to this news group:

" - 35 mm cameras and lenses

This group is for the discussion of all aspects of 35 mm camera
equipment. This includes 35 mm SLR camera bodies and lenses, 35 mm
point-and-shoot cameras, 35 mm rangefinder cameras, 35 mm scale focus
cameras and 35 mm half-frame cameras.

All postings made to this group should conform to existing Usenet
guidelines (see news.announce.newusers for guideline documents). This
group explicitly prohibits the posting of commercial advertisements or
other promotional material, whether or not it is in any way related to
photography. Binary postings (i.e. non text postings) are

Also, from the page that hosts the Charter for this group:

"Postings must _not_ be crossposted to any of the* discussion
groups. Crossposting within the* groups is
normally not permitted, with the exception of informational postings."

I point out that part, since so many of the complainers crosspost, and
often to groups having nothing to do with photography.

Anyone interested can read the Charters for all the* news
groups at:

I complained a bit just over a year ago about the volume of direct digital
postings, though that basically got me nowhere. Technically, some could
claim that they are half-frame cameras, or use the same lenses as a 35 mm
film camera. It is also off topic, and off charter to answer posts about
PhotoShop, scanning gear, or anything computer imagery related. Even
medium format gear gets discussed on this 35 mm news group, despite that
there is a separate group just for that.

Bottom line is that the Charter is incredibly simple, and too open ended
to limit much of any discussions, as long as they are somehow related to
photography. If ISPs dump people for "violating" a news group charter,
then I think everyone here should be reported, and dumped. You can start
with yourself, since your post is clearly a "violation" by your
interpretation of the charter. After that, go ahead and try to report me;
I answered your posting, so I might also fit your definition of

OK, let's talk about it. You know, I wont ask you what does the "NEW
Series Of Films From Kodak" have to do with what you write in the
message body but I just wonder which is the best 35 mm body with M42
screw mount. I want to get a new body but I am not sure what?

the f*(k out of you? Hey, Yeah to that! We could run a shoot-in special mandated as 'Violence', Gordon could provide the action, and Organiser can provide the blood and guts. When can we do this? I might even fly Stateside with my '10 and we could have an after-Organiser-demise party.

Count me in, for the violence and for the party. Specially the party. Mind
you, while there might be blood, I don't think 'Organizer' will prove to
have anything in the way of guts.
