New Sigma EF-500 DG super or 2nd hand Minolta 5400HS flash for Dynax 5 - flash compensation

  1. I've just bought a new Sigma EF-500 DG Super flash gun (£150-) and
have found out you can not dial in flash compensation by changing the
ISO speed. Even with the camera to manual, when you adjust the flashes
ISO and the shutter is half pressed it the Sigma flash ISO reverts
    back to the cameras ISO.

There is also no flash Auto just Manaul and TTL.

I've just seen two 2nd hand for sale at £130 pounds each. I went for
the Sigma because it uses ADI.

Does the Minolta 5400HS and Dynax 5 combination allow for some type of
flash compensation method ie. ISO adjustment independant of camera?

Do you think (one and all) that I should have gone for the 2nd hand
    5400HS ?

Not that I know of. What's wrong with changing ISO on the camera?
Well... chances are that the Sigma will work with the new digital Maxxums.
It is pretty much guaranteed, however, that the 5400HS won't. From that
point of view the Sigma is a more solid buy.
