  1. Has anyone here taken the NYIP course?

It looks good to me, but I don't want to spend the money if it is just a big

There is no doubt that's it is the single most effective thing I ever
did to advance my photographic skills. I more than earned back the cost
of the course long before finishing the fourth lesson. These days I
shoot for several international magazines, have a regular monthly photo
column in one magazine, shoot and write feature articles for several
Asian publications, do studio product shoots (boring!) for a dozen
regular clients, and run photo safaris for tourists who visit my neck
of the jungle. If you want YOUR photo skills to improve, I can't think
of a better way to do it!

I opened a new studio 8 months ago but already it turns out much to
small for the type of business I've been doing lately. Next month I will
be moving into a studio the size of a basketball court. THAT should
help... And Friday I signed a contract to do several days worth of
aerial photos for a real estate agent. NYIP gave me the photo skills AND
the business skills to make this a successful career.

Well rated course, not a scam at all. Focuses on basics and little
fluff. A past poster here who is a succesful photographer (going
concern business in Thailand) has credited NYIP with giving him the
    right start.

if you reside in NYC, DONT take the course. This is a correspondence school.
You should instead go to NY Film Academy, NYU, any CUNY college that offers
    photog courses, Pratt, SVA(!!!), etc.

I am considering getting an AAS from LaGuardia CC in photography. If you had
attended college before, you are half done.
