Hi, I have Windows xp, Adobe Premiere CS3 and a Canon XH A1 camera
hooked up via firewire. The computer acknowledges the camera but when
I go to "capture" in Premiere, I get the "Can't activate recorder, try
resetting camera" error. I'm sure it's something simple I'm missing,
I'm still learning this camera and this is the first time I've hooked
it up to the computer (which works fine with my Sony VX2000). What am
    I missing here?

    Any help is appreciated, thanks!

Hi, I have Windows xp, Adobe Premiere CS3 and a Canon XH A1 camera
This may help: make sure both premiere and XH A1 are in the same mode,
either HDV or DV. If the camcorder is in auto mode, try forcing it to HDV
    (or DV).

On my setup (premiere cs2), if premiere and the camcorder are in different
mode, the VCR buttons (play, stop, record) in the premiere capture dialog
    will grey out.

  3. I can confirm this from personal experience. I could not get my XH-A1
detected by Premiere and tried everything until I realized my Canon was
set to DV and my Premiere project was in HD.
