I have a Minolta 650si ,35mm film with a AF70-200 lens, how would this compare to a lets say D50 SLR with a comparable lens,,,,,,,,,,,,specifically close ups of birds?

    A 2nd question what if I changed the 200 out to a 300 lens?

    A 3rd question is why is a D80 body better than a D40?

    TIA dick

to answer 2 and 3, the 300mm will get you a 50% closer picture.

the d80 may not be better than the d40, the d80 is old technology. go online and type d80 vs d40 there are good sites out there that will show you pros and cons.
