In the early 1970s I bought a Minolta SRT 101 SLR with several lenses. If
switching to a Minolta digital SLR, can these lenses be used at all?

Unlikely. Those lens would have been manual and not auto focus.

  3. So? Many people use manual focus lenses on DSLR's and even film SLR.

It's not a hard skill to learn, in fact it's used to be considered
    part of being a photographer.

    Yup

Do you know if there's any adapters available to allow these old lenses to
    fit the new AF mount?

  5. May I suggest you try Google. I'm a Canon user.

I checked B&H and it seems they indeed do have such a adapter. I may try our
local stores and see if it's available down here

Not possible, from a mechanical point of view; the Minolta autofocus
mount has a *larger* register (distance from mounting flange to
film). The older mount was about 43.7mm, the newer one 44.6.
