Nice things to say about Mifsuds

Discussion in '35mm Cameras' started by Martin Francis, Oct 8, 2003.

  1. Bought a Hasselblad 500CM from Mifsuds Photographic today... and despite
having bought from them before, I was nicely surprised at the service. The
girl on the phone actually rang me back to inform me the black finish kit
i'd asked for was available but in poorer condition than the chrome finish
versions, and again to confirm I wanted the T* black finish lens (I chose
the chrome body). Even nicer than that was the hood, strap and Old Timer
Cameras photocopied instruction manual also in the box.

I don't know if they do this with all cameras, or if it's just "'Blad Bias",
    but cheers Mifsuds!

Nice to hear. Do they sell outside of UK? Do they have a web site?

    Thanks for sharing.

  3. I haven't used them, but the website is:

One other UK (mail order s/h) dealer worth a mention is Fieldgrass and

The lens they sold me was in better condition than expected, they were
helpful by email & phone, and the item was delivered promptly. They also
stock 'blad gear, and include instruction manuals with 'blad, Nikon,
    Leica and (modern) Contax bodies.

  4. Sorry all, meant to post this to the UK group (and it seems "Cancel Message"
    doesn't do a thing)

Thanks. That must be one of the worst looking web sites I have seen . . .
looks very 1995. Good selection of used gear as well.
Much better site, and a clearly described export policy. This one gets
    bookmarked. Thanks.

My only previous listing was for Robert White in the UK, since they are very
friendly towards export sales, and provide a currency converter. Fairly good
sized listings, though mostly new gear. Some items are much less expensive as
export items, than buying in the US.

No big deal, not like you confessed to a murder. Recenty (few days) for
what ever reason, I can't cancel my own posts either. Videotron have
said that their news servers are very heavilly loaded and need an
upgrade and that they aren't doing anything about it just yet.

Probably the biggest single source of used equipment in the UK excluding the
high street shops. They export, and state charges of £40 Fedex and £20 Royal
Mail (£5 for small accessories) to the US.

Awesome, thanks Martin. Always good to have another reference point. The
shipping seems reasonable. This one gets bookmarked too.

sent a query to them regarding wildly varying prices. The cheap ones are
customers asking them to sell for them. Advised cheap=quick sale. They
also explained differences between eos1 and eos 1n to me.
