Anyone here own either of these lenses, or do you have an opinion?

The 35-105 is a bit smaller in size, and since this is for a second camera
(casual, take anywhere kind of camera), that might be a selling point, but
on the other hand, the 28-105 has the wider focal length and Macro
capabilities. 'Course there's the difference in price too!

    Thoughts, recommendations??

    Thanks all!

I own the 28-105 AFD. It is decent and its on my N80 a lot. A bit slow
for indoor available light but thats what the 50mm f/1.4 is for. When I
first got it, I was really happy with it and still am. But after using
the 28-70 f/2.8 AFS and the 80-200 AFD my expectations got boosted which
is why I now consider it more a compromise lens. The Macro setting gets
you down to 1:2 but to focus in the macro range, you need to be in focal
lenghts greater than 50mm. There is a lock ring enforcing those
limitations. BTW the simular sounding 28-100 AFG is not the same lens.
