Nikon 200-400mm f/4G VR

    I'm considering buying this lens to use on my D70, however I'm very hesitant
    as it is a zoom. I would like to hear from somebody who has compared this
    lens at 400mm to say, a 400 2.8 or other fixed focal length.

    I found additional info on the lens from referrals, & you seem to be
    right-on.

    Looks like this lens might be in my future...along with considerable debt.

    i totally agree about the wonderful photos this lens will let you
    take, but unfortunately i don't have anough money to buy it, then i
    decided to go with the sigma 120-300/2.8. it doesn't provide a vr
    system, but the optic quality is awesome. with sigma telezooms you
    need a sigma teleconverter --donnow why...--
