I'm a 900 and a 950 owner. Was planning to move up to the 4500. About
the only place I see the 4500 listed is in ads in the British digital
photo magazines. Is the 4500 not being marketed in the USofA ? Has it
    reliability problems ? or ?
Thanks in advance for any comments

Isn't the 4500 obsolete? As a former 995 and 4500 user, I can only tell you
the 4500 was disappointing. Shure it has more pixels, but Nikon took away
the LCD status panel and everything is displayed on the smaller color
screen. One thing that bugged me to no end was the distance scale which
changed from a feet/inch (or the metric equivalent) display on the LCD
status screen to a useless bar graph on the color screen which made it
impossible to acheive precise focus when using macro mode. Another irk was
that you have to use the on/off switch to turn the camera on when it has
gone to sleep, the 995 only needed a gentle push on the trigger to bring it
    back on.

One good thing is it's smaller.

    As always YMMV
