The US Nikon web site does not have these scanners yet, neither
have them B&H. Actually, at B&H and at Adorama the LS4000 is no
    more in the product line!

Nikon in Europe is a bit faster with its web side modifications.
I found these prices on Nikon Germany (, seek
    B&H or via Pricegrabber
Euro List Adorama Street $ lowest 4+ star company
    Street US$ offer approx.
    LS 40 ED 969 610 600
    LS V ED 749
    LS 4000 ED 1939 ?? 1150
    LS 5000 ED 1399
    LS 8000 ED 4089 2350 2000
    LS 9000 ED ----

Interesting is that the new line of scanners cost less!
Can we just extrapolate the German Euro prices and predict the
US street prices? I doubt, because they would be suspiciously low!!

    Example for LS4000: 1399 * ( 1150/1939) = 829! This would be a
very attractive price indeed. In that case, I would probably put
my LS4000 on the eBay and go for the LS5000-ED! 20 sec per
image scan, so they say, its really damn good.

The SA-30 roll film adapter stays, slide feeder has a new type
designation now, thus probably the SF-200S is not portable. I am
not sure if someone has successfully used the LS2000 slide feeder
    SF-200 on the LS4000.

  2. Hi Thomans,

as far as I know the the SF-200 was originally designed for the LS-2000. I
use this combination at home. And I kow that someon in our company uses the
SF-200 on a LS-4000. I borowed their SF-200 to test before I ordered my own.
