Nikon CP885 hot pixel problem

Discussion in 'Nikon' started by Duane Laurent, Sep 6, 2003.

  1. After about 6 months of use, my (3Mpixel) CP885 started developing "hot
pixels". The problem got worse with time and eventually got bad enough
(and bugged me so much) that I returned it to Nikon for repair just
inside the warranty period. Got camera back within a couple of weeks
and first use was OK. Now, a few weeks later, it has already begun
showing hot pixels again (green, this time... originally they were
white). It is now out of warranty, so I figure I've got three options:
    (1) Return it for re-repair.
    (2) Return it and try to get Nikon to replace it (perhaps with a
    newer model).
    (3) Sell the thing and start again with a different camera.

    Opinions?

    That is interesting - I have had a D100 for about 4 - 5 months and it
developed a lot of green throughout the image over a period of about 4 weeks
I will be very wary when it is returned - currently undergoing repair.
