Why has Nikon not included self cleaning when they have it in the new D300.
Almost tempted to buy it however now I am having second thoughts. They may
just bring out a D3s or D3X. The D2x is still a very cable camera..........

Is that a reference mapping like the D70-D200 etc or is it true self
    cleaning?

Reference mapping only works in RAW mode.

I think self cleaning is a big liability, a major thing that can go wrong.
What's wrong with learning how to clean the sensor yourself?

    Cheers

  4. Finally, someone with common sense! I've turned this useless feature of the
second day I got the old Mk III. There's nothing like going in there with a
PEC-PAD and a chopstick and swabbing the deck.
