Flashback to Apple II+ with an audio cassette player to save and load.
Make sure the volumn isn't too loud or it will not read properly. At least
the sad Vic 20 had a tape drive made for it. And who can forget the Atari
800 which used one channel for the data and the other for audio so one
could listen to music as the 20k program took 15 minutes to load. Ah,
those were the days....at least punch cards were on the way out...

Excellent! How many people will get a D3x without considering upgrading
their pc to cope? I think there will be some whoopseys.

You mean like "full-motion HD video" in some of the new DSLRs? To me, that
is gimmick city. I'd rather have faster RAW write speed and bigger image
buffers. Let me press the button and fill up my 4GB memory card without
having to break the bank to afford it.

It would be nice if we could get out of the 8-bit RGB paradigm too.

Don't we all? I recently stopped at a roadside antique (old junk)
shop and shot a picture of a shelf of old bottles. Working on the
picture later I see that, even though I shot from seven angles, I
could have rearranged the bottles to compose the picture better.

The sad thing is that the scene was a good shot. The bottles are
interesting, the colors were good (some brown bottles, some green
ones, and some clear ones), the light was good, and the picture was
there. Not one of the seven shots is worth keeping, though, because I
didn't take the time to compose the scene before I pushed the button.

Also 750 GB HD on board and 1terrabyte HD on fast fire wire. And 4Gb
    memory
I think so too. Serves them right.

BTW my local PC shops says a lot of people go and get the latest Dell
special offer almost Zero cost PC then discover it won't run the sims
and or the other games they want to plaly. Then it costs them a fortune
    to upgrade.....

Your MacIntel is not hampered with Windows and uses its resources far more
    effectively.

Just like that, yes. Why the hell would I want to set my camera up on a
tripod and video. I think they are targetting pro DSLR's at the wrong
people. Rich yuppies. If I wanted a camcorder i'd buy one, whats next a
    built in mobile?

Sometimes 20-30 seconds built up over a year for a pro could be expensive
:-s, this could run into many minutes per day.

We'll see when XP is eventually dropped in new software in favour for Vista,
then many will 'have' to upgrade.

Now now dont start boasting, you will only loose...

My eight DDR3 Corsairs are winking at me. (2gb each).

PS CS3 Extended loads in under a second, time is money.

I suppose. It's about 45 minutes to drive there. It's not that I
can't re-shoot that bothers me, but that I didn't think.

Ohhhhhh another ultimate waste of money has yet to appear. Watch the suckers
rush out and buy, then realise downloading the 3 RAWs off their 4gb will
    take forever. Chug chug chug.

I'm on 64bit and its fast. I agree cameras need to be faster, and without
    video options.

Vista is dead. MS kept XP alive for 18months after launching Vista and
only killed it 3 weeks before launching the alpha of the Vista
    replacement.

I will do that upgrade it when the softwear I use properly addresses the
additional memory and the affordable printers properly address the
    additional color space.
