Nikon FM3a, it was a camera to invest in

Discussion in 'Nikon' started by blackmanblues, Jan 14, 2007.

  1. I kinda wanted one when they first came out, but, even at their sub
$500 price, they didn't offer enough to make me buy one. Today I went
looking for one again at all the usual online haunts, and couldn't find
one, not even on the used camera sites. So I went to ebay and was
surprised to see them going for $650, $750, I even saw one go for $950!
Wish I'd bought one back then, now...

Just took a look at KEH, and they didn't even list Nikon film cameras in
their menu, neither MF nor AF; only Nikon digital.

It may just be a problem with the server because it was completely down
when I went there earlier in the weekend, and I was able to find F4S
    doing a keyword search.

Or they may have dumped a lot of film gear at the first of the year?

  3. Perhaps you clicked their Digital Store button. If you click Camera
Store, you'll see the old familiar layout.
    http://www.keh.com/OnLineStore/BrandTableOfContent.aspx
They've changed the layout of their website.

Nope. Didn't click on any stores. Never click on any stores.

From the home.aspx, I use the *Advanced Search:* menu and look at
what's available in the drop-down to get where I want to go.

I expect it was a server problem, because this morning it's back to the
way it used to be, with Nikon Digital, Nikon Auto Focus and Nikon Manual
Focus (as well as Pentax Manual Focus which was also missing) back in
    the lineup.

No FM3a BTW, but a couple of FM2Ns

I believe if one wishes to purchase an older Nikon body with simularities,
you would look for an FE2, not an FM.

  6. Yup, saw that yesterday, when I "went looking for one again at all the
usual online haunts, and couldn't find one, not even on the used camera
    sites."
    ;-)
