    Hi,

I just bought an SB600 to replace my very old SB28, to be used with my
Nikon D80. I have serious problems: in TTL (both standard and BL) the
exposure is very erratic: sometimes I get way overexposed (1-1.5
    steps) images.

I have found out that this happens only when the flash zoom head is
set (either manually or automatically) at 35mm: in this case the flash
always fires at full power. If I change the zoom head to either 28 or
    50mm the exposure is perfect.

See this set i have just uploaded:

all photos have been shot in maual mode, f5, 1/60sec, I have only been
changing the flash head zoom position between the shots. you'll notice
how overexposed the image shot at 35mm is...

have you ever seen anything like this? I suspect a hardware problem
with the flash... I have tested the flash with two different lenses
and I have already reset the flash... Any help?

    Thanks a million,
    Pietro
