Going to replace my early Minolta Scan Dual with a Nikon (Mk1
scan dual is stopping me upgrading Windows, as no drivers for
    newer windows versions available, bastards).
Not buying Minolta due to the lack of driver support I
    experienced.
    So, Nikon do three models.
    All 4000x4000 dpi
    DMAX of 4.2 or 4.8

4.2 seems pretty good to me, is it worth paying lots for 4.8?

(Usage: copy landscape velvia slides, use for web and print up to
A3, absolute max, usually A3 bordered or A4 and sometimes sell to
commercial users on a CD for ads, flyers etc).
