Canon had nothing on the D4 when it came out. Nikon rightly chose to be conservative with the pixel count and released the noise control leader, again-again. But should it release a middle-ground pixel count like 24 for the D4 replacement or release 2 cameras, one with 24mp and one with...50? Remember what a sensation the D3x caused when it was released with 23
24mp? It would seem a shame to re1ease a D4 with 24. It won't have the noise control the 16mp sensor does, nor the resolution the D800 does. It'll be like the D7100, with a better body and focus system.
