noobie cam corder question..

Discussion in 'Amateur Video Production' started by the niner nation, Nov 6, 2003.

  1. Hi...I am thinking of making my first digital camcorder purchase and am
totally baffled by the choice available.
Basically, i want to be able to shoot footage with the camera, download to
my PC to edit and then to store the footage as DVD's that I can share with
    friends and family etc.
I must admit brand loyalty to sony, and I stopped short of buying one of
their MicroDV cameras because someone said it didnt allow the footage to be
    saved as DVD.

Can anyone please help me as to advise of model, etc? My budget is about
£700 GBP or approx $1,000 USD.

    thanks in advance.

Spend around $700 and get a TRV-22 MiniDV, you will be able to save it as
anything you want on any medium in any format. The person that said you
can't save to DVD is a fool.

The extra money you save you can spend on a good tripod and a mic or extra
    battery, etc, etc.
