I have converted some video from NTSC DV to PAL DV with AE and I have looked at both on a monitor that can switch between the two. I am quite surprised at the flicker in the PAL version. By what I have read - there seems to be a lot of problem with PAL flicker and it seems to be quite a jolt to people use to seeing NTSC. But I am having a hard time judging whether or not my conversion is up to snuff. (Not broadcast standards but to an average viewer) How much flicker is there in a PAL anyways and how do you judge the amount acceptable.. I don't want this to be a debate on NTSC versus PAL quality because we have had too much of this anyways, but I am having a hard time figuring out what would be acceptable. The flicker would NOT be acceptable in the NTSC world. I have tried this with AE and Procoder and get about the same results. There is no field dominance issues either - it is strictly flicker. Does anyone have any ideas on how to judge the amount of flicker that is acceptable in PAL. Thanks in Advance Steven h
