OE can't find Photoshop, or something...

I frequently receive JPG files from customers via e-mail (using Outlook
Express in Windows XP) ... I click the paperclip icon, put my cursor on the
name of that JPG file, and click. The JPG immediately opens up in Photoshop
    (CS2). I've done it a zillion times.

Suddenly, this common function has changed. Selecting that JPG file from the
paperclip drop-down DOES still OPEN Photoshop, but the JPG file itself isn't
there. I can easily SAVE that JPG to my desktop, then get into Photoshop and
open it from THERE, but I'd like things to go back the way they were before,
    and save these unnecessary steps.

Anybody know what boneheaded thing I've done to cause this? And if this
turns out to be an OE issue, rather than a Photoshop issue, please forgive.

The first thing to try is trashing preferences!!
Unless you have already tried that of course?

Hi Bill, it's so easy to reset, but why? It should be frustrating if
PS should open (on it's oh_so_sloooww way) every time
    you open a jpeg.

Anyway, open 'My Computer' on your desktop and search
    via it for a jpg.

Right Click on it and 'open with/choose program'
Pick PS (or whatever) and mark 'always use selected proram'.
