    Hi All,

I wonder if anyone can help me. I've just bought a second hand slide
projector, which works OK, except the autofocus is broken. The physical
mechanism is OK, but the projector just moves back and forth between way
out of focus one way to way out of focus the other way :-(

I'm happy to mess about inside it. Anyone have any tips?

    It's a Braun Novamat 515AF

    Thanks a lot,
    Adam

I believe all AF slide projectors use a beam of light reflected off the
surface of the slide. Do you see any light.? You will have to remove
the actual projection lamp in order to do this. This could be the
answer. You also have to have a slide in place.

There are two little (1cm wide) "lenses" pointing towards the beam of
light (from opposite sides) which I assume are the auto-focus bits.

What light am I looking for? There's lots of light shining through the
    projection optics!
Heh heh, that's a bit tricky, but I can achieve it by holding the slide
at the focal point while I'm fiddling!

    Thanks,
    Adam
