    Hi everyone,

I just bought a new epic but while shopping for it, I heard a bunch of
conflicting answers when I asked about it. I was told that: it's been
discontinued; it's going to be discontinued; we ordered it ages ago
and are still waiting for a new shipment; we haven't carried it for a
really long time; of course it's not discontinued b/c we keep
    receiving shipments of it.

So, anyone know what's happening with the stylus epic?

    Tess :)

PopPhoto's web site recommended grabbing one of them, about a year ago,
because Olympus was going to wise up one of these days and stop selling it
    at such a low price.

It's such a nifty little camera, and so popular with real 35mm enthusiasts,
that it's hard to imagine Olympus would even think about discontinuing it.
But I suppose it depends on what the sales numbers are. Ordinary buyers may
much prefer to purchase point-and-shoots with zoom lenses and especially
looooong zoom lenses (no matter how useless), and if the Stylus Epic isn't
selling well then probably the company's bean counters will force its

I think that maybe the sales reps were confused. I've discovered that
the Stylus Epic model that I've owned for years has been discontinued
    - it has a date stamp, but no panoramic feature. The non-zoom ones
currently available look like either the plain one with no date stamp,
or the deluxe model with both a date stamp and panoramic capacity.

Aren't you confusing the INFINITY STYLUS (now discontinued) with the STYLUS
    EPIC (current model)?
