    Hi.
I have an Olympus 707 & a 101 which I wish to use with a standard zoom lens
(OM mount, no AF or PF). The lens has an auto aperture ring but no auto or
    power focus
    control.
If I can, how do I use this lens (a newbie here) with the 2 mentioned
    cameras. How
do I set the aperture setting ?
I presume it is no longer automatic now when it comes to the aperture and it
    is maybe 'shutter priority ?

You have to focus it manually and set the aperture where you want it.
The camera will stop the lens down, calculate the shutter speed and
give you a correct exposure. The only problem is that you will have no
idea what speed was used to set the exposure. Only if it goes "sha . .
.. . clunk" will you be at 1/8 or slower.

    Thanks for the reply.
So basically, I focus, set aperture, which in turn sets the exposure, and
click... the auto shutter speed on the camera should do the rest ?
If the aperture is open then the background behind the subject will be in
focus and if closed down the background will be blurred but the subject in
    focus ?
Most of the shots I will be taking will be so called 'action shots' so i
need to decide whether I want blurred or focused background for each shot ?
