OM4 repair?

Discussion in '35mm Cameras' started by Larry Caldwell, Aug 1, 2003.

  1. After many thousands of exposures and 18 years of being hauled all over
the world, my trusty OM4 is getting balky. The flash shoe doesn't always
make good contact, and now the electronic viewfinder info is no longer
displaying. It is time to get it refurbished.

Does anyone have a recommendation for a good repair service? Should I
just send it to Olympus? I don't really trust anyone locally, so it
looks to be a mail order repair.

    Recommendations, anyone?

  5. Thanks to all who replied. It looks like my options are limited, but
there are still two good Olympus repair shops in the USA. I just hope it
doesn't need a new circuit board. Probably not, since the shutter
appears to still be exposing correctly.

    Thanks again.
