    I think it is called a shadow. I didn't mess with the ear at all.

    Give or take a few personal differences, I want to thank all who
    tackled my problem file for their efforts. I only hope that each of you
    got something out of the exercise.
    So, Tony, Floyd, Otter, & sid, thanks for playing.

    Given that no particular fix or interpretation is right or wrong, I
    believe the the most well balanced and ...er less obviously tampered
    with are "sid's" and one or two of Otter's.

    It also seems that no particular piece of processing software had any
    real advantage over another when it came down to the user's skills.

    Others should consider initiating this type exercise in the future, I
    will, but I am going figure out a better way of focusing on the scope
    and purpose of each exercise.

    cheers, to be honest I didn't do that much with it, desaturate and crop, a
    little dodging and burning, a little cloning and a local contrast mask with
    a bit of blur painted over the background.

    A good tiff out of my raw converter goes along way to a good final image.
