    Hi,

Got Minolta Dimage 7Hi and took some test images is RAW format. The pics
came out with an extension *.MRW accompanied with another file of *.THM.

Okay... now, *.thm are thumbnails but how to open *.MRW files as I suppose
'MRW' stands for Minolta RAW format!?

Have tried with several graphic editors including PS v.7 but I haven't
managed to open it. The only software that WOULD open it is a viewer that
came with the camera (DiMAGEViewer), but that's just a viewer - I can't use
    it for editing.

Any suggestions how to open it i.e. in PS?

Did your camera come with a CD & software? I think it should have. You
need to use a RAW file editor, and, most likely the one that came with
your camera. There are others around that you can buy, but since I
don't use RAW, I can't be of much more help.

A quick use of my "friendly local search engine" came up with over 4,000 "hits" on the
    search string

    Minolta RAW format

In the first ten ... several were exactly what you need. Including

A PhotoShop plug-in can be downloaded from
    http://www.dalibor.cz/minolta/
    http://www.dalibor.cz/minolta/plugin.htm

You might also want to look at

    http://webpages.charter.net/bbiggers/DCExperiments/html/minolta_raw_format.html
where you can download a command-line utility (great for batch files ...) to convert them
    to TIF files from
    http://webpages.charter.net/bbiggers/DCExperiments/html/mrw2tif.html

Your local search engine really *is* your friend.
