OT: The NFL rule for pass interference is not fair!

I am in favor of the NFL using a pass interference rule similar to the
one in NCAA football(15 yards and an automatic 1st down). The current
NFL rule awards the offense an automatic first down at the spot of the
    foul(up to 99 yards).

This much seems fair thus far. However, all too often the official
calls PI on the defender when in fact there was no contact. Other
times the contact is incidental or caused by the offensive player but
the defender mistakingly gets flagged. Fine, mistakes happen(how can
they not when your asking a middle-aged NFL official to stay in
position to make the call while keeping pace with two guys running at
sub 4.4 speed)but when good defense results in a 43-yard penalty
    something is wrong!

So lets fix the rule! Make it 15 yards and an automatic first-down.
Now we still dont want cheating so if the official deems the
interference to be blatant or intentional he can award a spot-foul in
those cases. But Mr. Side Judge if your not sure what happened and
your going to give the offense the benefit of the doubt(like they do
because the League wants more offense),then dont punish our favorite
defender and his team with a near death penalty for a crime you are
    not sure he committed.
