  1. Have just made first recording and working out how to download to PC. There
doesn't seem to be anything in the manual on how to do this.

  2. There's not much in my Sony manuals either! Plenty about USB and stills
    though!
You need a FireWire card in your PC, FireWire cable (4 pin at camera end,
and either 4 or 6 pin at PC end to suit socket fitted) and editing software
loaded on your PC (In my case Ulead's VideoStudio 6SE came with my card).
When you open your editing software in capture mode, with your camera (in
playback mode) connected, you should see your video on your PC's screen and
you should be able to control your camcorder from the PC. Click on
"Capture" and hope that your drive is big* enough! You may need to set "DMA
enabled" for clean capture with no dropped frames.
    * around 13GB per hour of video.
    Enjoy...

  3. Thats right loads about stills and a whole seperate manual on a USB
connection. I was beginning to think I'd wasted £500!

250 Gb HDD should be enough for a while!
