Apocalyptic is a term that comes to mind.
    Frightening, even.

Stop friggin' around on usenet. Get to stitching!

    Go on.

    Move on.

    There's nothing to see here.

I think it looks pretty good , Mark.
Cant wait to see it! I now have a full sized
stitch of my little panorama for you to view. I'm
pretty happy with it & will now re-visit the scene
in better weather to see if I can improve on it!
    Thanks again for your advice....

Thanks, the colour on that old image actually looks a lot better than
the scan I just did - I'm not sure if that is because the slides have
faded, or it might have been thaqt they were scanned on my dear old
Olympus (1770 ppi!) film scanner. That scanner had limited resolution
but managed to extract lovely colour from challenging slides. (I
developed a bit of a taste for underexposure (I call it low-key!) back
    in my transparency shooting days.)
Me either.. the big search commences tomorrow.
That's a much better version, and a lovely image - maybe a tad gloomy in
the middle, but it suits the sombre/soft mood. And I can't see any join
Pleasure, but (modestly shuffles feet) it wasn't just me!

Thats a bummer, might have to do more PS work than
    you hoped to?
Maybe you will find more gems & do a totally
    different pano!
Thanks, & agreed totally! In nicer weather, the
sky will be clear & the water will be blue! I
    really like the edges though.

Very happy with it as a first attempt, & extremely
    happy with PTgui!
Its probably Optus' crappy news server, but I
didn't see any other posts offering advice!
Thought I was just being ignored for asking stupid
    questions. :)
