Just wondering if anyone using the Pentax *ist (silly name or what?) would
like to comment on how it handles and the results you're getting?

Unfortunately... unless you already have a range of pentax lenses, you'd be
silly to invest in that mount... thats why very few people are buying them.
It is more than likely a competitive camera (using the D100's 6mp sensor I
believe) but these days, its the system that matters more than the
    individual camera.

If you are referring to the *ist D (consensus on stupid name) excepting
the land of Nikon and Canon (Oz) they are flying off the shelves, supply
    can't keep up with demand.

what I've heard CR Kennedy don't even have 2 dozen in the country...
probably see them through till Xmas

Can't comment on it from personal use, but I think it may turn out to be a
slightly disappointing camera... small sized sensor, 8 million sensors...
usually means quite noisy. Megapixels isn't everything. The difference
between 4mp to 6mp is obviously much greater than 6mp to 8mp.

    I meant the 35mm. I currently use a Pentax ME Super.(which I like a
    lot)..about time to upgrade, maybe?
As the *ist is small in the hand (if not on the wallet) it attracted my

For a person with no comment you seem to having something to say which does
    not endear the prospective buyer.
