  1. Atlanta Photographer Michael Reese to facilitate the 2008 Taller
Portobelo Norte Black Christ Festival Photography Workshop in
    Portobelo, Panama.

Noteworthy Atlanta Photographer Michael Reese will travel to
Portobelo, Panama this October with a group of emerging and
professional photographers as part of the 2008 Taller Portobelo Norte
Black Christ Festival Photography Workshop. Through lectures,
assignments, a community based Photo Documentary project and
critiques, Reese will lead participants through a photographic
exploration of the transformative power of religious fervor, exposing
them to new insights, skills and inspirations along the way.
Participants will have the opportunity to interact with local Black
Christ devotees through the Photo Booth Project - a interactive
photographic experience that will culminate in a curated photo book
documenting the Black Christ Festival experience.

The Black Christ Festival Photography Workshop is ideal for artists
interested in religion, Latin America and the African Diaspora.
Photographers and artists won’t fail to be stimulated by the abundance
of stunning visual imagery, overwhelming emotion and electrifying
energy of the festival. Taller Portobelo Norte is accepting
applications for the international workshop online through it’s
website www.tallerportobelonorte.com. For more information on Michael
    Reese, please visit www.michaelreesephotography.com.

Taller Portobelo Norte (Portobelo Workshop North in Spanish) is a
collective of emerging and established artists and artist/scholars
that seeks to encourage critical dialogues around the art and
culture(s) of the African Diaspora, create a cross-cultural,
intergenerational, multidisciplinary exchange of ideas and
inspirations among artists, and create a supportive space for
experimental and non-traditional artists, writers, and scholars to
experience communal intellectual stimulation as well as quiet
    contemplation.
