Not the best, I know, but they're my first hoverflies in flight.
Had to crop them some to make it worth posting even. Sorry.

Phew! All that flying, I need a drink!

Now I'm hungry. I'll wash my hands before I go eat something...

    Mmmmmm, yummy!

Nothing to do now. Just siesta time.

Why aren't I as pretty as my cousins... photograph me!

Well, I enjoyed taking them :)

Wow, 3 posts about photography. My quick trip back here wasn't

I would like to see these cropped even more. (IMHO)

Your photography is getting better since last time I passed by. Did
you have to take lots of shots to get these?

I like those. Looks like you are having fun with your photography.
That's kinda rare in this group. Is this a hoverfly?

Ironically, the guy who got me interested in macro photography was
    also named Troy.

G'day Bret. Thanks for your comments. I am having fun,
particularly with the macro stuff. Still getting a feel for my
    gear.
Sure is. That's a nice shot, much closer than I got this morning
and much sharper. I wish I had that lens you have :) It's on my
wish list for about 5 years from now :(

By the way, what flash/lighting do you use for your macro
photography? Do you have the MT-24EX or MR-14EX? Or just a
    speedlite?

I only have a 430EX on camera. I need to get a bracket or
something to get it over the front and side of the 100mm lens,
with and without tubes on. At present I'm using a hacked 3litre
    milk bottle :p
Some nice shots there, and he certainly has a cool name :)

I only have speedlights. Usually I'll either hand hold them off
camera or use a quick flip bracket.

Ok, thanks. Don't know how much I'd like hand-holding flash
while trying to hold camera steady and shoot with the other.
Might have to go down the bracket path.

I posted this yesterday from TerraNews but it hasn't shown up.

Thanks Mike. I'll keep posting if people keep critiquing (is
    that even a word?) :)
I agree, but I was worried they'd be too noisy or lose too much
detail. I'll give it a go. 100% crop of one of them:

Thanks Mike! Encouragement like this keeps me going :)
I've never shot hoverflies before, and these were the best from a
batch of 13. Hey, thinking about it - that's not too bad first
    go. Is it?
