Im using the "vista" version of Pinnacle.. but once I load up my
project with video in the edit window.. it just sucks up my CPU ..
often times it will say windows has to close programs to save memory..
basically running out of memory too (and yet memory % is only at 72%
    of 2GB).

    Any thoughts out there?

  2. I've no knowledge of Vista but remember the page file is treated as memory
as far as programs are concerned. Increasing the page file may help
somewhat. Make sure that you have set up your hardware as per the manual.
Set your video to 16 bit rather than 32 bit. Defrag and clean up the drives.

Yes. Save yourself a lot of frustration
and stay away from Pinnacle. There are
plenty of real NLE products out there that
you would be far better off investing some
time & effort in learning. Avid Xpress
Pro & Sony Vegas are great. Rumour has
it that FCP isn't too bad either... :)

Alas, the only kind of help offered by other Pinnacle users in
these neighborhoods seems to be simply RTFM.

  5. Pinnacle Studio 10.7 is not Vista compatible. They have a beta of version
10.8 that is fairly stable in Vista 32-bit.
