  2. I've just posted my review of Edition 5. I skimmed over your review and noticed something wrong.
"Key-frameable Slomo - No other editing application has this feature that I
know of, but I'd like to see key-frameable speed control to create those
    oh-so-cool effects."

Ashley, looks like you need to spend some time working with Vegas. Not only
does it have key-frameable slomo (Velocity envelpes, video only), but also does
    auto saves of your project.

I think you mis-read that part of the review. Keyframable slomo is
listed under features that Ashley wishes Editon had.

I'm pretty sure he knows Vegas has it - that's probably how he
realized he wanted it so bad! Velocity envelopes are one of the
    coolest features in Vegas.

Yep, he said he forgot about Vegas in an email to me.
Yes, velocity envelopes are cool, but there are many other gems in the
package also. Auto gain compensation in the audio track compressor is super
slick. So is the master tracks for audio and video. Resampling of speed
changes flat rocks. So many cool tools (that never crash).

Yes nice review, and yes for me the two things it would be nice to see included
are support for AC3 2.0 audio, and variable Time Warp (which as someone else has
pointed out Vegas does do, indeed Vegas does both, just wish Vegas's media
managment were as good as somthing like Edition).

Edition has super smooth scrubbing (with audio off) like Avid, I assume the
price you pay for this is the 'propriatory' media capture. I prefer an app that
can work directly with avi's, just seems cleaner.

  7. So Pinnacle EDITION is not even close to the same thing as Studio
    8, right?

Edition is truly a professional editing application which I would compare
with Final Cut Pro or Avid.
Many Studio users may find the transition to Edition a little steep

  9. Cool, thanks.

So it is like Adobe Premier?

Did they write it or did they buy it?

I do wish that the interfaces in apps were consistent - shortens
    the learning curve. :)

The Edition interface is very consistent and is customizeable.
All of the effects editors have the same look and feel.
Pinnacle has even made the Hollywood FX interface more like Edition.
