Hi - does Pinnacle provide special spectacles to view the preview window in
Studio 9 which is not resizable?

I am becoming like the Hunchback of Notre dame in trying to see the camera
scene in the tiny preview window provided.

How can it be seriously regarded as a video editing program if one can
hardly see the camera scene during capture?

    Yours faithfully,

  3. To the best of my knowledge, Pinnacle 9 isn't regarded as a serious video
    editing program ;-)

If your only complaint is during 'capture', then you can switch to a
program called "Scenalyzer Live". It will cost you about $33.00 and has
a resizable hi-res preview window. Even the default lo-res preview
window is larger and clearer than Studios. I do all my capturing with
    Scenalyzer, then edit in Studio.

I don't even think it is regarded at all :)

Hi and thanks for the tip - the Scenealyzer window is definitely sharper,
and because it is resizable it is definitely better than the tiny capture
window offered by Pinnacle Studio 9. However, when I use my Sony TRV900E
digital camcorder connected by firewire to windows xp, there is still some
    pixelation visible.

If I hold up a paper with some printed text quite close to the camera, the
    text in the preview window looks as though it has suffered some compression;
ie artifacts are apparent, as if I were looking at a jpg image and not a
    live preview.

I am using a Win TV capture card - Nvidea Gforce 2 graphics card - Intel
2ghertz chip - windows xp - Scenalyzer preview window.

My aim is to get as clear a view of the camera scene as possible on the pc
monitor, so that I can automatically save screenshots of the camera scene as
displayed on the monitor for cctv purposes using a program such as
    Hypersnap.

There is bound to be some pixelation of the camera scene because a pc
monitor uses pixels for display, but short of buying a Matrox RTx100 capture
card which may increase quality considerably, is there any better way of
obtaining a clear display of the camera scene on a pc monitor?

    Yours faithfully,
