Possible to import avi with mp3 audio into DVD Architect 1.0?

Discussion in 'Amateur Video Production' started by Tom Gustafson, Mar 4, 2004.

  1. Hello everyone,

I have been greatly impressed with the DVD Architect program, but I was
not sure if it is possible to import avi clips with mp3 audio? I can
import avi with ac3 or pcm audio. It is possible to re-encode the audio
to pcm with VirtualDub, but it would save a step if I could directly
import the avi with mp3 audio.

Thanks in advance for any advice/tips.

    Cheers,
    Tom

I can't answer your question about DVD Architect but can point you to a
    small utility.

    decompress.exe

Select a source AVI with compressed audio.
    Choose a destination.

decompress.exe then creates a copy of the original AVI with PCM
    (uncompressed) audio).
This is a good workaround when your application refuses to import an AVI
    with compressed audio.

decompress.exe is part of the AVI2VCD package, a 342KB download from

    http://home.cogeco.ca/~avi2vcd/

    HTH.

    Martin.
