Post pics from a Sony A700

Discussion in 'Sony' started by Philip Procter, Apr 25, 2008.

  1. I'm thinking of buying an alpha700 to replace my Minolta d5. I assume
the pictures will be sharper, but I don't know if they'll be $1000
    sharper!

Does anyone have an a700 that would be willing to email me a high
quality jpg or raw picture taken at low iso so that I could examine
and print to see what kind of improvement I'll see in an 8x10 or
    13x19.

    I'd be forever grateful :)

  2. That depends almost entirely on your glass.

  5. Very good comparison for my use! Maybe it's me, but I don't see allot
of detail differences between the a350 and a700, a least in the low
ISO shots. Is that a valid assessment?

  6. Yes. The A700 focuses more accurately, and unless you get the focus
nailed, the extra megapixels don't do much.

I would not use the A350 in preference to the A700. I'll keep it around
to continue being able to shoot occasional pix with it, but no way can
it do the same work, and the experience of using it is a lesser one
(small finder, fewer control options, etc etc)
