    I am a UK photographer.
My Praktica MTL50 has a strange fault in that on 1/1000th sec speed there is
the strange effect that the top of the negative receives less light, just as
if I were using a grey graduate filter. There was no filter of that sort on
    the lens at the time.

Is C.Z. Scientific Instruments of Borehamwood still trading?
If not can anyone reccomend a repairer who can be bothered to service
    Prakticas.

  2. A clear case of the second curtain moving faster than the first curtain.
This can normally be cured by a CLA.
Bothering or not isn't the problem. It would simply be cheaper to buy
another working MTL50 on ebay. Any repair will by far exceed its market
    value.
