Premiere 6.0 - rendering unaltered DV - why so long?

    Theoretically, yes. But I'd really like to get to the bottom of this - it's
    driving me nuts not being able to work out what's wrong!

    can you confirm your preview settings are in fact the same as the make movie
    settings? I think I remember you saying you had 256mb of memory. It might
    not be a bad investment to upgrade to 512mb anyway that would make some
    difference. I reckon with my system it takes 1 minute to make 1 minute of
    movie, provided everything is previewed previously. I have Athlon 2200 and
    512 mb in practicality I find that the difference in chip speed makes some
    but not a lot of difference. ( I previously used premiere 5 on a P3 450 with
    128mb and that was not a lot different in output speed.)

    I still think your better way of going is to export timeline to tape rather
    than making an avi file problem of course is is your movie longer than the
    DV tape is?
