Discussion in 'Amateur Video Production' started by Sune Alexandersen, Oct 1, 2003.

  1. Hi all!

After laying almost 8 workhours into my new project i saved the project.
When I reopened the project later all the original clip-names had disappeard
on there was nothing on the timeline..
I am TOTALLY sure that I saved the project..

I have actually experienced this on an earlier occation..

    Please advise..

Just a stab, do a search or find file for *.ppj on all your hard drives.

I haven't had that exact problem, but just a few days ago, when I
reopened a project to continue working on it, Windows complained that
permiere encountered an error and had to be shut down. This happened
every time I tried to open that project, but others worked fine. I
    assume that it got corrupted.

I managed to recover the work on that project by opening a new project
and importing the 'corrupt' project. This worked fine. I simply
saved to a new name and finished my work.

The old project still causes premiere ro crash on loading. Go figure.

Do you see many "-1" items instead of your clips?

Save As or Save Copy. Frequently. Any time you put in huge amounts
of time, frequent saves are priceless.

Norton Utilities and many other apps help recover deleted files, if in
fact that's what's happened. Otherwise, use the Windows Search
function to track down your missing files.

Sorry can't be of more help!

  13. Hi David!
Seems to be an error with the file itself!
Found an app over at http://www.xs4all.nl/~jhariot/html/premiere.html that
    automates the fixing process:)
